Horizon Church of Reisterstown/Owings Mills

Kid Horizon

Children learn best by doing. They need plenty of opportunities to try new skills and fail safely until they begin to master these new skills. In other words, they need to be able to play. We want them to understand from the beginning that following Jesus is fun. Each Sunday morning, while the adults are worshipping in adult-centric ways, children grow to love God and each other by interacting with age-appropriate materials and adults who care about them and want to see them succeed.

As adults, we love the community we’ve experienced at Horizon, and we want to share it with our kids. So, each adult at Horizon spends a few Sunday mornings each year laughing, loving, playing and guiding our kids in Kid Horizon. This way, we bring the entire church community to them and engage with them in ways they understand and appreciate. The results have been pretty amazing. The kid’s are integrated into the life of the whole church on a relational level. An honest sense of commitment to the well-being of the children permeates the whole church because they aren’t just an idea or a group to us…they’re people.
